What is Saint Joseph the patron saint of?

Saint Joseph is the patron saint of workers, fathers, travelers, unborn children, immigrants and dying a happy death. He was the stepfather of Jesus and husband of Mary. Saint Joseph was born in 90 B.C. and died in the year 18 A.D.

Much of Saint Joseph's life comes from the Bible. He was a carpenter who accepted that Jesus was the Son of God but treated him as his own son. He moved his family to Nazareth to protect them.

Saint Joseph has two feast days. The traditional day is March 19, which is the more commonly celebrated feast day. The second day is May 1, which Pope Pius XII designated as the Feast Day of Saint Joseph "the worker" in 1955. It is also known as International Workers' Day and May Day.
