What is a salt water pool pump?

A salt water pool pump is a system that converts regular salt into chlorine in a pool. The salt-chlorinated water will not burn people's eyes like regular chlorine does. The salt content is one-tenth that of ocean water.
When the salt water passes over the electrolytic titanium cell, sodium hypochlorite is produced, which keeps the water clean and clear by eliminating bacteria and algae. An added benefit of a salt water system is that salt does not evaporate like chlorine does.
Salt costs much less than chlorine, so it ends up being a low-cost maintenance system. Once the salt is added to the water, it does not have to replaced unless a large amount of water is splashed out.
