Where does Santa Claus live?

Depending on each country's culture, nationalpost.com explains that Santa Claus's home is believed to exist in various locations, such as the North Pole, Drobak, Lapland and Greenland. The claim that Santa lives in the North Pole is most commonly attributed to North America and Britain.

The folklore of Santa Claus familiar to Western cultures is based on Britain's Father Christmas and the Dutch's Sinterklaas, who has some traits in common with the Greek god Odin. Thomas Nast provided an illustration of Santa Claus in an 1823 holiday poem called "A Visit From St. Nicholas." Since the poems' publication, Western cultures have adopted and maintained Nast's drawing as the official appearance of Santa Claus.
