Sky uses multiple satellites called the Astra 2 group, and also EutelSat 28A to broadcast channels. Sky is a British broadcasting company.
Sky was created in 1990 from the merger of British Satellite Broadcasting and Sky Television plc. The company uses the group of Astra 2 satellites and EutelSat 28A to broadcast both encrypted subscription channels. The Astra satellites include Astra 2A, 2C, 2E and 2F.
EutelSat 28A is located at 28.5 degrees Southeast and the Astra group is located at 28.2 East in the atmosphere. Subscribers are able to use their satellite dishes and provided digital satellite receivers to decode the encrypted Sky channels.
