When is a savings bond at full maturity?
By Forinfos - 09/07/2025 - 0 comments
The full maturity date on any savings bond depends on the type of bond issued, states TreasuryDirect. For example, a Series EE savings bond issued in June 2003 at face value matures in 20 years, and the worth of the bond is expected to double during that time.
Anyone who buys a Series E or EE savings bond is able to redeem that bond after 12 months. Each bond earns interest for up to 30 years. However, anyone who redeems a bond after five years loses three months of interest. TreasuryDirect offers interest rate charts and maturity dates for any Series EE or E savings bond, according to its website.
