Are most schools starting to use an online school yearbook?

As of 2015, most high schools still offer printed yearbooks, rather than online versions. Hard copy yearbooks allow students to circulate their copy among friends to collect signatures and notes. Along with providing a physical record of students' school years, printed yearbooks represent a treasured tradition for many graduating seniors.

Some colleges, however, have eliminated yearbook publication. Purdue University halted publication of its Debris yearbook in 2008, while the University of Virginia published its last yearbook in 2009. The University of Missouri at Columbia experimented with an online version of its yearbook in 2006, but ceased publication altogether only a year later.
