The scientific name for horse is Equus caballus. Horses were first domesticated over 4,000 years ago, and have become an integral of human society for transportation and sport activities until the invention of the engine. There are over 400 different breeds of horses that possess unique characteristics allowing them to be used for various activities.
In the wild, feral horses typically gather in groups of three to 20, with a stallion leading the group. When colts have finally reached the age of maturity, which is about 2 years old, the stallion drives them away and they are forced to roam around until they find a group of females to join them.
