How do you score in a pickleball game?

Scoring a point in a pickleball game requires that the receiving player fails to return a legal serve from the serving player, according to the U.S.A. Pickleball Association. In a pickleball game, only the player making the serve has the ability to score a point.

Making a legal serve in pickleball requires that the serving player strike the ball from at or below her waist while standing within the serving court. Making a legal serve also requires that the ball bounce once in the diagonally opposed court from which the serving player strikes the ball. Only one serve attempt is allowed in pickleball; if a player makes an illegal serve, then the opposing player makes the next serve attempt.
