Who sculpted "End of the Trail"?

"End of the Trail" was created by James Earle Fraser in 1894. The sculpture depicts a Native American warrior slumped over on his horse. It was inspired by the interactions with Native Americans during Fraser's childhood.

"End of the Trail" is one of the most famous sculptures produced about Native Americans. The sculpture gained notoriety at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition. In 1968, the original creation was moved from California to Oklahoma, where it was restored and is now on display at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum as of 2015. A bronze replica of the statue sits on the campus of Winona State University in Winona, Minn., which is Fraser's hometown
