Is setup and installation included with appliance sales?

Some retailers, such as Home Depot, offer set-up and installation with most appliance purchases. Sears does not offer free installation on all appliances, but offers free installation and set-up on appliances that are over $399, as of 2015.

Although Home Depot advertises free installation, fees may apply for any hook-up service that goes beyond basic installation. Basic installation only covers some appliances, such as a washer, dryer or refrigerator. In other situations, such as when installing a built-in cooktop, there is a fee associated with the service. Wall ovens, air conditioners and drop-ins are also not covered by Home Depot free installation services.
