The seven last words, or sayings, of Jesus are found in Luke 23:34, Luke 23:43, John 19:26-27, Matthew 27:46 and John 19:28, followed by John 19:30 and Luke 23:46. The very last words spoken by Jesus before he died were, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

Some of Jesus' other last words include Jesus asking God to forgive the Romans who were crucifying him. He also commends his disciple John to care for Jesus' mother, Mary, asking them to consider their relationship to be that of a mother and son. When a prisoner on the cross next to Jesus expresses faith in him, Jesus tells that prisoner that because of this man's faith, he is to be with Jesus in paradise later that day.
