How often should I feed my Labrador?

Adult Labradors should be fed one or two times a day. Puppies may need to be fed more often depending on their age, with more frequent feedings being necessary for younger puppies.
Although many adults do well on one daily feeding, a single large meal of kibble may encourage them to eat too quickly. This can result in a condition known as bloat, which can be life-threatening. Puppies need to eat at least four times a day until they are three months old, then three times a day until they are six months old. After six months, they can switch to twice-daily feedings. Owners that prefer to feed once a day should wait until the dog is at least a year old to start.
