How should you follow up after submitting a resume to a company?

Follow up your resume submission with a phone call, but do not rush the process. Wait roughly two weeks before following up. In the follow-up call, demonstrate your pleasant personality, your motivation and your good manners.
To direct your follow up call to the right person, find the name of the company's hiring manager online. If this doesn't work, contact the company and request the staff member responsible for filling the open job position. If your call goes through to voice mail, don't record a message until you've called back and failed to speak with a person at least twice. Calling in the morning increases your chances of getting through.
