How often should you water succulents?

Succulent plants should be watered at least once a week during the growing period by soaking the plant until water comes out of the pot's drainage holes. During the plant's resting periods, the soil should be allowed to dry out between waterings.

Most succulents enter dormancy when the weather starts to cool and there is less sunlight. If the succulents are outside, they require less water during this time. Succulents grown inside require about the same amount of water if grown by a window or near a heat source. Succulents can survive extended periods without being watered, but they do not grow as well as they would with regular watering.
