What should you wear to court?

Dress in a professional manner when attending court by wearing attire that is suitable for a job interview, such as a business suit. Never wear shorts, a tank top or a hat into a courtroom. The judge may remove you from the proceedings for improper clothing.

Women should choose an appropriate dress or skirt that falls below the knee. Miniskirts are never acceptable in court. Long pants paired with a blouse or sweater also create a professional appearance.

Men should wear long pants and a collared shirt with or without a tie. When attending court, tuck the shirt into your pants and wear a belt. Jeans are not acceptable in court.
