What should you see at your 21-week ultrasound?

According to BabyCentre, an ultrasound done at about 20 weeks shows the baby's hands, feet and face. The bones appear white in the ultrasound, while organs and soft tissue are harder to make out. If the baby is turned correctly, it's possible to see whether it's a boy or girl.

An ultrasound technician often looks at a baby's organs during the 20- or 21-week ultrasound, although the details are hard for the mother-to-be to see. SheKnows points out that the ultrasound technician typically takes several measurements of the baby to pass along to the obstetrician. Babies can often be seen moving during this ultrasound, and sometimes they are also sucking their thumbs.
