For a free birthday dinner at Benihana, customers must sign up for the Chef's Table. Required information to join this club includes a name, phone number, ZIP code, email address and the preferred Benihana location. As of 2015, members receive a $30 gift card to use on their birthdays.

Some other required information to join the Chef's Table includes a birth date, sex, preferred dishes from the menu and when the member usually visits. The Chef's Table registration form also asks if members visit on special occasions, such as birthdays or date nights. Customers can inform the restaurant about their favorite alcoholic beverages from the chain and whether they typically bring kids with them.
