As of 2013, Silhouette had 1,500 employees with a revenue of 160 million euros. Since 2002, this company has worked with NASA to develop eyeglasses with special lenses for astronauts. These eyeglasses use the frame of the Titan Minimal Art of Silhouette model, which weighs only 1.8 grams.
Queen Elizabeth II started to wear Silhouette eyeglasses in 1982. In the television series "CSI: Miami," the main character, Horatio Caine, wears a pair of Silhouette sunglasses.
