What is the Simon memory game?

Simon is a memory game in which four different colors flash in random sequences, and the player must remember the sequence and press the corresponding buttons in order. It was first created in the late 1970s and is still published today by Milton Bradley.
Simon boards are electronic and consist of four buttons with colored lights (red, green, blue and yellow). In each of the game's turn, Simon generates a random sequence of flashing lights that the player must follow. The lights are also accompanied by a distinct musical note. Sequences become longer and more complicated when players succeed at following them.
