Is the Sims 4 game available?

The Sims 4 was released September 2, 2014, by Electronic Arts (EA) and is available on Windows and Mac OS platforms. Various expansions, add-ons, downloadable content and editions are also available to expand on The Sims 4 content.

While The Sims 4 is available at most video game retailers for Windows, the Mac client is only available as a digital-only release. Regardless of how the game is purchased, an Origin account is required to play The Sims 4. The game also requires an Internet connection to activate the game, though a persistent online connection is not required once the game has been activated.
