Are skin tags contagious?

According to the UK's NHS, skin tags are not contagious. However, the fleshy growths are sometimes confused with warts. The virus that causes a wart is able to spread from person to person.
Although it's possible for skin tags to form in many locations of the body, NHS explains that they're most common on the neck, under the arms, around the groin and under the breasts. Older individuals tend to develop more skin tags, though they show up on people of all ages. Since skin tags are harmless and painless, they are typically not removed except for cosmetic reasons. Doctors usually freeze or burn off skin tags.
