What is "smart casual" for men?

Smart casual attire for men includes a blazer or cardigan. A long-sleeved shirt or polo is also acceptable. Long-sleeved sweaters are included in smart casual attire.

Trousers in a dark color, as well as dark socks, are typical elements of part of smart casual attire. Jeans shorts and sandals are not included in smart casual wear. Smart casual shoes include yacht shoes and dark dress shoes, and sometimes loafers. While colored shirts and sweaters may be considered for the style, subtle shades are best when paired with dark-hued trousers, socks and shoes. Shirts without collars and denim jackets should be avoided. Baseball caps and shirts that feature logos are not considered smart casual.
