Snails have both male and female organs so all snails can lay eggs after mating. Each snail can lay about 100 eggs.
Snails can become sexually mature as early as 6 weeks old depending on the species. Many snails will cover each other in slime as a way of courting. They then finish the mating process. Afterwards the snails part ways. Each snail will lay its own eggs and bury them in wet dirt for protection. After 4 weeks, the snail eggs will hatch and come from under the dirt.
