Do snails have teeth?

Snails do not have teeth like humans or mammals. Instead, like most mollusks, snails have radulas, which look like tongues in the snail's mouth. The radulas have tiny teeth on them, used for gripping and grinding food. A radula's appearance is often used by scientists to identify and classify snails.
Sea snails and freshwater snails eat algae, while land snails eat decaying plant matter. Snails do not use the radula to chew. Instead, they grind, grate and mash their food with their radulas. Over time, the tiny teeth on the radula may grind down, and the snail regenerates them. Sea snails can be used in saltwater aquariums to eat the algae and keep the tank clean.
