Why are some snakes born albino?
By Forinfos - 29/10/2025 - 0 comments
Some snakes are born albino because they are subject to a genetic anomaly. This anomaly causes a lack of production in melanin, which is required for normal skin pigmentation.
Albino snakes are not always pure white. Some can have a yellow skin hue, and others may only be missing certain colors from their patterns. One aspect that the majority of albino snakes have in common is their eye color. Most albino snakes have red eyes. The only exception is snakes that are considered leucistic. However, these snakes are not officially albino, as they lack other types of pigmentation in addition to melanin.
