What is a snowmobile caboose?

A caboose is a small trailer usually designed to carry one or more passengers, and it is mounted on skis with an attached hitch bar to tow it behind a snowmobile. Cabooses come in many different styles, including open cockpit and fully enclosed models.

Retailers offer cabooses in small children's sizes or models large enough to comfortably accommodate adults. Many open cockpit models have small windshields to provide some protection to the passengers from the elements or flying snow from snowmobile treads. Closed cockpit models have passenger doors, sunroofs and windows all around. They commonly have comfortable padded bucket seats and extra storage compartments for cargo.
