Why is the snowmobile trail not open all winter?
By Forinfos - 08/08/2025 - 0 comments
Snowmobile trails may not be open for the entire winter due to lack of snow or due to local regulations. For example, some states and counties set specific dates for opening and closing snowmobiling trails independent of weather conditions.
In addition to closing trails due to the obvious difficulty of using a snowmobiling trail in the absence of snow, authorities in charge of trails may also close them if conditions on the trail are dangerous. In many cases, local officials are in charge of declaring nearby trails open since snowfall and weather conditions can vary greatly from area to area even in states with significant snowfall levels.
