What are the solvents that remove acrylic paint?

Acrylic paint, a fast-drying, water-based paint, can be dissolved with clean tap water or rubbing alcohol. Acrylic is soluble in rubbing alcohol, which can be denatured alcohol or isopropyl alcohol.
Water is a non-toxic solvent that can be used effectively to clean up fresh paint spills. Its effectiveness is enhanced with the addition of a small amount of mild non-detergent soap. Dried acrylic paint, though, is water-resistant. Once dried, the acrylic paint should be soaked in warm water to soften the hardened paint and then removed with the alcohol. Oil-based paint requires much stronger solvents, such as turpentine or mineral spirits, than acrylic paint.
