What is Soursop leaf tea?

Soursop leaf tea is made from boiling the leaves of the soursop tree and straining the leaves out of the tea before consuming it cold. Soursop is more commonly known as graviola, a tree that mainly grows in the rainforests of Southeast Asia, Africa and South America.

According to Cancer Research UK, soursop is used by natural health practitioners to alleviate depression, rheumatism, intestinal parasites and arthritis. Folk practitioners also use soursop leaf tea to eradicate cancer, although no scientific evidence exists to support it as a cancer cure.

Before preparing the tea, individuals must sort, wash, drain and dry the leaves to ensure they are clean, debris-free and dry enough to boil evenly.
