What is a spell one can use to fly?

Despite the popularity of the idea of a flying spell, no such spell has ever been shown to exist. In fact, human flight is unachievable without the aid of some kind of mechanical device.

The fantasy of magical flight is a theme in some of the earliest recorded stories in human history, but the possibility of actual human flight (without a glider or a kite or some other mechanical device) runs contrary to the physics of the real world. Objects do not normally fly in a gravitational field; they fall. Magical flight, whether by witch's broomstick or flying carpet, only exists in fiction and fantasy.
