Clean laminate wood floors by dusting them with a dust mop and then mopping the floors with a thick microfiber mop and a water-vinegar solution. Finish by buffing the floor to a shine with a dry microfiber mop head. Avoid using stiff-bristled brooms or too much water when cleaning laminate.
- Remove dust and debris with a dust mop
Go over the floor with a dust mop to remove loose dirt. Concentrate on the corners and edges.
- Damp mop the floor with water and vinegar
Combine 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar and 1 gallon of warm water. Place a soft microfiber mop in the solution, and wring it out until it is barely damp, as using too much water warps laminate flooring. Rub the damp mop over a portion of the floor in the direction of the grain to remove dirt. When the mop becomes soiled, rinse it and re-wet the mop in the vinegar-water solution. Wring the mop out well, and move onto another section of the floor. Repeat this process until the entire floor is mopped.
- Buff the floor dry with a clean mop head
Place a dry microfiber mop head on the mop handle. Rub it on the laminate floor to remove any moisture and add shine.
