As of 2014, the stadium with the largest seating capacity is the North Korean May Day Stadium in Pyongyang. This stadium has a capacity of 150,000 and is often used to stage large-scale arirang performances as well as state events.
Some of the world's largest stadiums can be found in Asia. The second largest capacity stadium is the Salt Lake Stadium. Located in Kolkata, India, this stadium can seat up to 120,000 and was constructed in 1984. In comparison, the largest stadium in the United States, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, seats only 93,420 people. The Rose Bowl was also the location for the 1994 World Cup Final.
