There is no standard depth for stoves, although most are about 24 inches deep, which is the depth of a standard kitchen cabinet. Freestanding stoves usually include rear control panels that are up to 6 inches tall, and slide-in stoves are designed without a back control panel so that they can fit into an island. Although a 30-inch-wide configuration is most common for freestanding stoves, they are sold in widths ranging from 20 to 40 inches.
