What are the standard dimensions for a kitchen?

There are no standard dimensions for kitchens, but the National Association of Home Builders recommends that a kitchen be approximately 11.6 percent of a home's total square footage. The National Kitchen and Bath Association also states that kitchen doors should be at least 34 inches wide and doors should clear all appliances when open.
In the classic triangle workspace, which includes the stove, refrigerator and sink, there should be no less than 4 feet and no more than 9 feet between each of the points. The work triangle should also be clear of major traffic flow through the kitchen. In kitchens with seating, there should not be any traffic flow within 32 inches of the seating area.
