The standard ping-pong table has a playing surface that measures 9 feet long by 5 feet wide. The top of the table needs to be 30 inches from the floor.

The length of the playing surface is divided into two courts by a net that runs parallel to the end lines. The top of the net is 6 inches from the top of the table. Each court is further divided into two vertical halves with a 0.12-inch-wide white line. This line is parallel to the side lines of the table. When playing with a partner, the line is considered to be part of the right half-court.
