Mount McKinley is the tallest mountain in North America, and it is located in Alaska. It is found in the Denali National Park and Reserve, which is approximately 6 million acres of wild land.
Mount McKinley is approximately 120 miles south of Fairbanks and 240 miles north of Anchorage. The mountaineering headquarters are located 100 miles north of Anchorage in Talkeetna, which is around 140 miles south of the park entrance. The private road that travels through Denali is open to the general public up to the Savage River Bridge. Shuttle and bus tours are available for visitors who wish to travel further into the park.
