What do stick bugs eat?

Stick bugs are known to consume only specific types of leaves, like blackberry leaves, Oak leaves, Hawthorn leaves, bracken and fern depending on their species and genus. Almost all types of stick bugs eat blackberry leaves. Other types of stick bugs, like the Indian Laboratory stick insect and Small Spiny stick insect, will add Oak leaves and Hawthorn leaves to their diet.

Pet owners should ensure that their stick bugs are always supplied with an abundance of leaves. Choose leaves that are found away from major roads, as they tend to contain less contaminants. Carefully wash all leaves prior to feeding.
