Lei Jun founded Xiaomi on April 6, 2010. Since then, the company has built a reputation as the “Apple of China,” claims GizChina.com. In 2014, Xiaomi sold 61 million handsets around the world. At the time, Xiaomi was the sixth-largest mobile phone company in the world. The company continues to expand across the globe by selling devices and applications in a few Southeast Asian markets and striking deals with South Korea and India.
