To strip hair color, wash it with dish detergent, condition it, rinse thoroughly, apply a protein pack, and treat stubborn areas with diluted hair bleach. This 90-minute process requires dish detergent, clarifying shampoo, conditioner, a mirror, towels, a comb, a protein pack and hair bleach.

1. Wash the hair with detergent and shampoo

   Mix equal amounts clarifying shampoo and liquid dish detergent, apply it to the hair, and rub it in vigorously. Rinse with hot water, apply conditioner, and rinse again. Wash and condition the hair a second time.

2. Apply a protein pack

   Comb the hair, and apply a protein pack conditioning treatment. If the hair is long, use two packs. Leave the treatment on the hair for at least 30 minutes.

3. Rinse and inspect the hair

   Rinse the hair, wring it out, comb it, and let it air dry. Examine the hair in a mirror. If you feel satisfied with the results, style it as usual. If some hair dye remains, proceed to the final step.

4. Apply diluted hair bleach

   Treat stubborn dye deposits with equal parts shampoo, hair bleach and conditioner. Rub the mixture into the dye stains, and then rinse with hot water. Condition the hair, and rinse again.
