Who makes Subaru cars?

Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan is the parent company for Subaru of America and other Subaru operations offices around the world. American Subaru cars are either made in Indiana in the United States or in Japan.

Different Subaru car models are made in different factories, with some models made in Lafayette, Indiana, in the United States and others made in Gunma, Japan. Ultimately, Subaru of America is in charge of making, distributing, marketing and servicing Subaru cars in America, while Fuji Heavy Industries is in charge of the broader direction of the company, such as designing new models of Subaru cars.
