Who manufactures Subaru cars?

The Japanese industrial conglomerate Fuji Heavy Industries manufactures Subaru vehicles. Subaru is a subsidiary of this corporation, which also manufactures aircraft and industrial products under the Fuji name.

The Subaru car brand evolved from the existing industrial and aerospace production operations of Fuji Heavy Industries during the 1950s. While Fuji has always remained the primary owner and manufacturer of Subaru vehicles, other car manufacturers have held partial interests in Subaru from time to time. The Toyota motor company owns a 16.4 percent stake in Subaru as of 2015 and participates in the joint manufacture of the Subaru BR-Z and Scion FR-S cars.
