Super Bowl XXIV had the largest spread in a final score of any Super Bowl in history, with a point differential of 45. The San Francisco 49ers represented the NFC, the Denver Broncos represented the AFC and the 49ers prevailed by a score of 55 to 10.

The game was played on January 28th, 1990, with the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans as the host city. The 49ers entered the game as a 12-point favorite over the Broncos, so their victory itself was not surprising to most. Quarterback Joe Montana took home the Super Bowl MVP award for the third time in his career, and it was his fourth Super Bowl victory overall, all of which were with the 49ers.
