The survival rate for grade 2 brain tumors varies by type, notes Cancer Research UK. Patients with one of the more common brain tumors, at grade 2, typically have a prognosis of between five and 10 years.
Brain tumors diagnosed as grade 2, or "slow growing", including astrocytomas, oligodendrogliomas and ependymomas, may be removed in large part, but typically not in their entirety, explains Cancer Research UK. The survival rate for patients with many grade 2 brain tumors depends on where the tumors are located in the brain, the patient's general health besides the tumors and which treatment options are pursued.
