What does "suspense" mean on a family court docket?

Suspense on a family court docket refers to funds received as a result of a fine or court-ordered payment, explains the Washington State Courts. Suspense funds received that require an adjustment to the case or court order are coded as $SRAR on a docket.

Suspense funds received that result in an overpayment to a fine ordered by the courts are coded as $SRO on a family court docket, according to the Washington State Courts.

Some courts order for an account to be opened to hold suspense funds reserved for a business, government agency such as the Internal Revenue Service or a private individual, explains FindLaw.
