Symptoms of the Norwalk flu, also referred to as the norovirus, include stomach upset, watery diarrhea and vomiting, according to WebMD. Symptoms typically present within one to two days following exposure to the virus.
Additional symptoms of the Norwalk flu include general body aches, headache and fever, explains the Centers for Disease Control. Symptoms of dehydration, such as dizziness and dry mouth, can also occur in sufferers who lose excess fluids from vomiting and diarrhea. Noroviruses are extremely contagious and spread easily via contact with infected individuals or by eating contaminated food or drinking contaminated water. Touching contaminated surfaces can also transmit norovirus germs.
