To tag someone in a Facebook post, start typing their name into the status update field. When a drop-down menu of suggestions appears, select their name.

1. Create a status update

   Create a status update on your timeline in which to tag your friend.

2. Type the person's name into the status update

   Type your friend's name into the status update, and capitalize the first name.

3. Select the person's profile

   A drop-down menu appears giving you a list of options to choose from. Select the correct person's profile that you want to tag. A link to your friend's profile is created in the status update or comment.
