The "Love Mom" tattoo means the wearer loves his or her mom (mother). The tattoo became popular during World War II when homesick soldiers began looking for a way to remember family left behind.

Many variations of the "Love Mom" tattoo exist. Some tattoos simply say "Mom," while others state an entire sentiment of love with "I Love Mom." According to a book titled, "Sailor Jerry Collins: American Tattoo Master," U.S. Navy sailor Norman Keith Collins is the first person to design an "I Love Mom" tattoo. "Love Mom" tattoos are still trendy today and their popularity increases around Mother's Day.
