In a test of seven different smart phones, Phone Arena chose the Samsung Galaxy S5 as having the best camera for 2014. Phone Arena used seven different criteria to determine which camera phone topped its rankings.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 scored the same as the Huawei Ascend P7 and the Sony Xperia Z1, but the Samsung got the edge because of the quality in both day and night scenes as well as its video capabilities. The S5 comes with a 16-megapixel camera, the second largest of the seven tested, as well as a 2.2 aperture. The video is high definition, 1080p resolution and can take still images while recording video.
