The star Theta Scorpii, or Sargas, is 7,268 Kelvin, which equates to 6,994.85 degrees Celsius or 12,623 degrees Fahrenheit. As its name indicates, it is found in the constellation Scorpio and is best viewed in the southern hemisphere.
Sargas is a bright star with an apparent magnitude of 1.84 and a distance of about 300 light years from Earth. It is 5.7 times as massive as the sun, has 27 times its diameter and is 1,834 times as bright. It is considered an F type star, which means it is yellow-white in color and still on the main sequence, like the sun. Sargas is one of the stars found on the flag of Brazil.
