What are the three primary colors of pigment?

The three primary colors of pigment are cyan, magenta and yellow. Primary colors cannot be produced by mixing other colors together. This makes them fundamental to color blending.
Red, yellow and blue are often thought to be the primary colors. In actuality, red and blue can be created by the true primary colors. An equal blend of cyan and magenta makes blue, and an equal blend of magenta and yellow creates red.
The three primary colors can be blended in different amounts to make all the other pure colors. Tints and shades are made by blending white or black, respectively, with color pigments.
